South African bands suck?

Do South African bands really suck? One can never say a band sucks or not. You either like their style of music or not. If a band has a number of supports, the surely they cannot suck.
I can say I am not a huge fan of any South African bands as i do not like their style of music. But I cannot go as far as saying/stating that they suck. If I hear a song and I like it, I like it regard;ess of which band sings it.
Local bands cannot fully reach their potential in this country as our music industry is still small and developing. So many bands decide to go abroad. They have had more success and support/following in foreign coutries than here back at home.
People might think that South African bands suck because they believe they cannot keep up with or compete against the major bands coming out of the UK or USA.
Many SA bands have won numerous internation awards, including the Grammy's", and have been asked to be opening acts for many international bands that have done concerts here.
We, as South Africans, need to help these bands develop and flourish in their own country. We need to help in promoting the raw talent we have here at home, regardless of whether we like their music or not. We need to be Proudly South African through and through, not just when we want to be.
They all deserve our support as a nation, if not as a fan.
